Leslie,

We are hosting an international meeting in Sao Paulo in April. Getting visas to go there is way worse then China, I find it odd. We have a local host on the ground but if there’s anything I should know, would love to hear it.

Thank you for this article and helping to educate professionals in the industry. I would like to add to this that another great way to use technology with social media is the use of video. Quality video production has become a much more affordable proposition in recent times and in our experience we have found that our clients in the convention and meeting industry see it as a great way to extend the life of their investments at a show, onto social networks delivering their message to a much larger audience.

If people only knew, and we need to tell them,it is not the end, it is the begining. In a time of Thanksgiving, globalization and Black Friday, how do we all keep it together, nuts or should I say bananas, it does take a village.

Kent – thanks for the great reflections and appreciation of your show, and all those that contribute to it’s success. Every meeting and exhibit or event we plan seems to take alot of hard work and effort, just to be over in a flash! Yet we all help millions of people connect in person (and otherwise) to learn, grow, and enjoy their lives and jobs. Family and friends misunderstanding what we do…that’s one thing we live with. Getting government and lawmakers to understand your contribution is much more important. I second that motion and know your involvement, along with Deborah and the rest of the leadership, will make an impact….so thanks for all your efforts. And kudos for a great blog so close to the trek to Anaheim! Have a great show!

Kent, Good luck with your show I am sure all will go well.

Your comment about those that work in the background made me think of when my show was in Chicago last year I was riding downing to from the airport and surrounded by these massive size trucks and it got me to wondering how many of them were hauling freight for my show.

We do have an impact on working America.
